I was under the impression everything was going to be basically that you get what’s given and that was that. Can you tell then if it’s possible to load Opera to use as a browser, is it available via the “Synaptic Package Manager”? Sorry but I’m not familiar with linux download procedures. thank you

It's very exciting that CherryPal is finally shipping after all the delays and lack of information. Sorry to hear about everything going purple on you. One possibility is overheating. Even though it only consumes 2W, CherryPal is a closed plastic (I guess) box and 2W can add up to a significant temperature rise. I once had an Atari ST that displayed black bands when it overheated (yep, I'm old). You might try turning power off for a while and see if the problem fixes itself and/or comes back.
